Professional Journey

Farhan’s path to educational technology began during her university years when she tutored fellow students in computer science courses. Noticing how many struggled with purely theoretical learning, she began creating simple quiz-based study guides that helped concepts stick more effectively.

In 2018, while still completing her degree, Farhan started her YouTube channel @farhanbintajwel6187 with straightforward tutorial videos on basic programming concepts. What distinguished her content was her focus on breaking down complex ideas into quiz-format lessons that viewers could practice offline. Despite modest production quality, her channel grew steadily to 75,000 subscribers over two years through consistent posting and genuine helpfulness.

Farhan faced a significant challenge common to many content creators in Bangladesh—unreliable internet connectivity made it difficult for her audience to stream videos consistently. Rather than seeing this as an obstacle, she developed a practical solution: creating downloadable versions of her educational content that included both the video lesson and an interactive quiz component.

In 2020, when the pandemic forced education online, Farhan collaborated with three former classmates to develop a simple web application that allowed teachers to convert their lesson videos into downloadable packages with embedded quizzes. They named this tool “SaveLearn” and offered it for free to local schools during the height of COVID restrictions.

This initiative caught the attention of a small educational technology startup in Dhaka that was looking to expand its offerings. In early 2021, they hired Farhan as their Content Development Lead, where she refined her approach to creating downloadable educational resources.

Later that year, Farhan connected with the founder of the then-new SFF Quiz platform, who was impressed with her practical approach to educational content. She joined the small team as their fifth employee, bringing her experience in creating quiz-based learning materials and her technical knowledge of optimizing video content for low-bandwidth environments.

At SFF Quiz, Farhan helped implement the site’s “Download & Practice” feature, which allows users to save quiz content and video explanations for offline use—a particularly valuable function for students in areas with unreliable internet. This practical feature helped the platform grow from a few hundred users to over 50,000 monthly active users within its first year.

Today, as SFF Quiz has expanded to reach students across Bangladesh and parts of India and Nepal, Farhan leads a team of four content creators focused on developing engaging, downloadable educational materials. The platform now serves approximately 200,000 monthly users and generates modest but sustainable revenue through a freemium model and partnerships with several educational institutions.
